The
Konocti Cup will be held Saturday, April 26th, with the Awards
Brunch on following day on April 27th, 2007.
For the third year race headquarters will be at the Richmond Park Resort on Konocti Bay Road.
The
course is divided into a 26 mile "Full Cup", and a 13 mile
"Half Cup."

The
Konocti Cup is open to all keel boats and center board boats over 19'
in length. PHRF National Averages will be used for handicapping and
scoring. All boats must be equipped for night sailing.

Steak
BBQ! Everyone is invited to gather after the race to custom cook
steak on the Richmond Park Texas style BBQ starting at 5:30 Saturday
evening. This will be a great opportunity to tell stories about the
race and socialize, while enjoying a hearty meal in the process.
The restaurant supplies the steak, cooking sauces and seasonings, and baked potato and salad. Then...BBQ your meal just the way you like it on their spacious charcoal grill! Important: steak dinners are $13.50 and must be prepaid or reserved with your entry form to insure that you have a steak waiting at the feed!
You can also order a variety of delicious meals from the Richmond Park menu if the steak BBQ isn't to your taste. Go to their website at http://richmondparkbarandgrill.com/ for more information.
The awards brunch will be held the following day, Sunday
April 27th at the Richmond Park Resort on Konocti Bay Road.. Again,
it's important to pre-register for the race and indicate how many people
you will be bringing to the awards brunch.

This
event is the 24th annual Konocti Cup sailed on beautiful Clearlake,
California. This event will start at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April
26, 2008. The course is a 26 mile marathon race sailed on Clearlake.The
Half Cup will be 13 miles in length. The race headquarters is located
at Richmond Park Bar and Grill - 9435 Konocti Bay Road, Kelseyville,
CA.
Waivers
Prior to the start, the skipper of each entrant shall sign and file
with the Organizing Authority, the Konocti Bay Sailing Club Liability
Release Form which is found on the application form for this event.
Rules
This event will be governed by 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing, County
of Lake Boating Law, Sailing Instructions for this event, and any applicable
Federal and State laws.
Operating VHF radios are required. They must be monitored during the
race for safety. All participants will be required to wear a lifejacket
or approved floating device during this event.
Qualified
Entrants
This event is open to all keel and center board boats 19 feet and over
with a valid San Francisco Bay or Konocti Bay Sailing Club PHRF certificates.
In the event that identical boats rate differently under the two systems,
the race committee shall assign a common number. Yachts without certificates
will have a rating assigned by the race committee. All yachts rating
210 or less shall sail the Full Cup and yachts above that rating may
sail either the Half or Full Cup. A final handicap decision rests with
the race committee.
A minimum of 5 yachts and a consensus among them regarding applicable One-design class rules are needed to form a one-design division. To qualify as a one-design division, entries must be received prior to the deadline date of April 24, 2008. Final division assignments will be made on April 24th, 2008. Final Cutoff date is April 26, 2008 at 0800 hrs.
A separate division is open to sailing multihulls that have a valid Bay Area Multihull Association (BAMA) rating. This division can be expanded to a twice around Konocti Cup.

Entry Fees
The entry fee is $50. United States Sailing Association members may
deduct $5. A late fee of $10 will be charged for all entries received
after April 20, 2007. Final entries close at 0800 hrs on April 26th,
2008.
Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available at the Richmond Park on April
26, 2008. Information will also be available on the web in Acrobat format
here.
Prizes
Prizes will be distributed at Sunday morning awards breakfast, April
27. 9:00 am – Richmond Park Bar and Grill All monohull boats are
eligible for the first to finish and their division trophies per original
Konocti Cup Deed. The first three places in each division and overall
will be awarded prizes. Overall trophy will be based on corrected fleet
time. Only monohulled boats are eligible for the overall trophy - Konocti
Cup. Mutihull boats receive a first to finish and corrected and a division
trophy. Multihull overall corrected will receive the “new”
Konocti Bay Trophy.
Assignment to Division Division formation will
be based upon the number and types of entrants.
All divisions will be scored on basis of Time-on-Time.
One-Design divisions will be allowed upon request by at least five (5)
boats provided entries are received prior to the deadline date of April
24, 2008. Final division assignments will be made on April 24th, 2008.
Final Cutoff date is April 26, 2008 at 0800 hrs.
