The Commodores Cup was a very exciting race. Six boats were entered with three KBSC Past Commodores at the helm of their boats. We had a good start with light winds, using a modified Konocti Cup, "Half Cup" course. The two Capri 25's were neck and neck for the first two marks closely followed by the J-24. Then on the 3rd leg, all were passed by Wayne Hallenbeck on his Olson 25, Ala Ka Zam. Wayne played a hunch that paid off. He continued on to cross the finish line first, closely followed by Jim Carlsen on the Capri 25, Tranquility Base. Right behind Jim was "another Jim", as in Ziebell, on his Capri 25, Lakota (SOB), and close behind was "another Jim", as in Westman, who skippered the J-24, Orion. The wind picked up on this last leg making the event a spinnaker run to the finish.

Corrected times, as well as other paticipating boats not in the Commodore's Cup and be seen in the attached results sheet. Corrected times puts the winner of the 2009 Commodores Cup as Jim Carlsen. Congratulations Commodore Carlsen!!! More pictures from the following Sunday morning breakfast hosted by Arlene & Jim Westman are in the photo gallery.

The race was followed by another fabulous BBQ at the Tiki Hut with over 30 members and guests attending.

Congratulations to everyone for helping make the 2009 Konocti Bay Sailing Club's 25th annual Konocti Cup one of the most successful regattas in recent memory.
